Place Mamadou Konaté, located at Hamdallaye, ACI 2000, Bamako, Mali.

place-sogolonPlace Sogolon – This monument has a Buffalo: The buffalo Dô and bears the name of the mother of Sounjata Keita (Sogolon). The epic Mandingo, Dô Kamissoko, Princess of Dô buffalo had turned into terrorising the population. His younger brother, King Sakaran Koné offered to hunters who finally shot (brothers Traoré) to choose among many girls. It brought Sogolon Koné, the ugliest, the sovereign of the Mandé Famaghan Konaté, who made his wife.

Sogolon Koné (the Buffalo Woman), is mother of Soundjata Keita, the Lion King of Mali. She was woman of great power and wisdom as possessed the spirit of the buffalo within her and acquired with togu; a force, neither linked to wealth nor to beauty, it’s something else. Togu is in the heart, in the blood. If someone has good togu, we say he has good blood with people, warm blood. Togu is in the way one speaks. Togu is happiness because it grants love and the admiration of others. Togu always brings fruitfulness.

This monument pays tribute to both Dô Kamissoko for his sacrifice and Sogolon, mother of Sounjata. The frescoes that adorn representative of Malian women in different sectors of activity, are a tribute to the Malian woman of all time.

Place Sogolon located at Kalaban Coura, road from the Bamako-Senou Airport to Bamako city.

In Flight MH021 Paris-CDG to KLIA

flight-to-klia1In flight from Paris-CDG to KLIA. Video screen shows now the aeroplane past over sea in Myanmar

What will you do if you are in flight for 12 hours? Of course you will be doing some activity to fill your spare time. Aside from reading, or you can sleep with ease or entertain yourself. Inside the aircraft there are in-flight entertainment such as movies, music, news and video games

bollywoodheaven-singh-is-kinng04The movie Singh is Kinng

During this flight from CDG to KUL, I have once again watch movie Singh is Kinng. In fact, when I was in the flight from Bamako to Paris, I have been watching this movie, but had not finished.

Movie Singh is Kinng, for me whom very rarely watch movie, it’s still interesting. The theme is quite different from the usual movies.

flight-to-klia4-singh-is-kinng

Singh Is Kinng is a 2008 Bollywood film. The film is directed by Anees Bazmee and stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. The movie was shot in Australia, around the Gold Coast region and Brisbane. The film was released in August 2008.

The spelling of the word “king” in the film’s title with an additional letter “n” was based on advice provided by a numerologist, a practice which has become routine in Bollywood

Boarding the flight around 11.45am………….one of in-flight entertainment movies screening Singh is Kinng…………during my flight from Bamako I had watch this movie but not finish…..so I continue watching it.

The story is about Lakhan Singh aka Lucky (Sonu Sood) is the “kinng” of Australian underworld accompanied by his associates, Julie (Neha Dhupia), Mika (Jaaved Jaffrey), Pankaj Udas (Yashpal Sharma), Raftaar (Sudhanshu Pandey), Dilbaugh Singh (Manoj Pahwa). Far away in a small village in Punjab, where Lucky was born, there exists some one more notorious than him– Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar). Happy had caused many problems and disastrous situations in the village which fed up the villagers. The villagers decided to send Happy on a long trip to Australia with his buddy, Rangeela (Om Puri) to bring Lucky back to Punjab, which will keep Happy out of the village for some while and there will be peace in the village.

flight-to-klia2-expected-time-of-arrivalAnother 2 hours and 26 minutes flying time to KLIA

At the airport, Happy and Rangeela’s tickets to Australia gets exchanged with a stranger’s ticket to Egypt and they reach the opposite places. In Egypt, Happy helps Sonia (Katrina Kaif) and falls deeply in love with her without expressing his love to Sonia. He leaves his love story and heads towards Australia. Lucky refuses to return to his hometown and removes Happy and Rangeela from his house. Penniless Happy finds warmth and affection in an elderly lady (Kiron Kher) who provides him food when he was starving inspite of being strangers. Lucky lands up in hospital paralyzed, and Happy, unexpectedly was conferred the title of Kinng. Happy was not proud of his rank and was kind-hearted. The lady who helped Happy was really worried and depressed as her daughter was returning from Egypt with her wealthy boyfriend, Puneet (Ranvir Shorey). Her daughter does not know that, after the death of her father some time back, her mother was a poor flower seller. Happy gives her his spacious house and makes all mafia associates as workers

flight-to-klia3-distance-travelledHave travelled 8,586km from Paris. Another 2,033km to KLIA

The lady’s daughter arrives who turns out to be Sonia with her boyfriend Puneet. Happy is heart-broken but he gives a happy appearance to Sonia. Puneet says that he too would have had a good time with Happy and Sonia in Egypt had his ticket to Egypt not been exchanged on the airport because of which, he landed up in Australia instead. Puneet was always jealous of Sonia being with Happy and doubts that something is between them. Sonia and Puneet squabble about this topic but Happy handles it. Sonia started loving Happy secretly. The truth couldn’t hide much….Sonia became aware that she is poor but her poverty was hidden from her by Happy who helped her mother. Puneet sets his heart to marry Sonia. Sonia was trapped in an emotional tug of war between Puneet who loved her and Happy whom she loved. Puneet meets a person to kill Happy. The person is Mika, the kinng’s associate. Puneet wants to kill Happy to keep Sonia away from him and Mika wants to kill Happy to become the Kinng.

The marriage day dawns and there was firing. Puneet hides while the pandit chanted the mantras when Happy and Sonia were running together and they however get married. Lucky gets consious and arrives at the wedding. Mika shows his true colour but however gets emotional when Happy tells him that being the “king” is no great thing. Lucky always found sadness being the king, because a true king doesn’t fight for himself but for others and drops the revolver. The movie happily ends with Happy and Sonia.
